take trouble to read what he said. He’s difficult to
read and he writes in a very circular way, in other
words he’ll start out in Understanding Media using
a term on page 30 or page 40 that he assumes
everybody is familiar with and he doesn’t get
around to really defining it until page 250. It takes
a very close student to figure out what he is
saying.
Q: Do you think the fact that he never really wrote
the one big book has detracted from his being able
to be a more permanent and stable presence in
communications?
